Market access and country engagement
Developing innovative vector control tools is only the first step—ensuring they reach the people who need them is just as critical.
IVCC’s market access & country engagement work ensures that new insecticide-based solutions are available, affordable, acceptable, and adopted in malaria-endemic regions.

From early-stage development to large-scale deployment, we collaborate with partners to understand evolving country and user needs and preferences, optimise product designs, shape markets, accelerate product introduction, and optimise public health impact. This includes working with regulators, manufacturers, country malaria programs, donors, and implementing agencies to align priorities, address barriers, optimise deployment and drive uptake.
Our Global Access Strategy is built around three key objectives:
- Minimising time to impact – Reducing delays in product adoption by streamlining regulatory approvals and distribution.
- Supporting evidence-based deployment – Generating data on efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and operational feasibility to inform procurement and use.
- Managing insecticide resistance – Ensuring sustainable use of new products through resistance monitoring and strategic rotation.
Our approach includes:
- Market shaping – Conducting landscape and market analyses to assess need and potential demand, affordability, and challenges with funding, deployment and user adoption, and supporting national programs to develop localised multisectoral partnerships to increase funding and operational resources
- Stakeholder engagement – Working with governments, national malaria control programmes, funders, and multilaterals to support policy recommendations and procurement planning.
- Evidence generation – Supporting trials, impact assessments, and cost-effectiveness studies to guide decision-making.
- Launch planning – Facilitating smooth product introduction through manufacturing agreements and supply chain coordination.
By integrating market access considerations early in product development, IVCC ensures that new vector control tools can be rapidly and effectively deployed and widely adopted—helping to sustain malaria control efforts and save lives.
