Fludora® Fusion has been developed by Bayer specifically for vector control applications; it is the first product intended for Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) campaigns combining two unrelated modes of action, the neonicotinoid insecticide clothianidin and the pyrethroid insecticide deltamethrin.
IVCC has supported Bayer in the evaluation of the Fludora Fusion product with the conduct of two trials as part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Prequalification for Vector Control Evaluation (WHO PQT-VC); this included the sponsorship of a community scale trial in Muheza, Tanzania. The product was listed by WHO-PQT-VC in December 2018.
Fludora® Fusion has been proven to be effective against strains of mosquitoes possessing mechanisms of resistance to pyrethroid, carbamate and organophosphate insecticides.
