IVCC is pleased to announce the selection of five projects to receive two year funding to further develop promising innovative technologies and tools for monitoring and control of Anopheles mosquitoes. These projects are designed to build the evidence base for a future decision on full development and commercialisation.
The chosen projects originated from the USAID-funded Zika Grand Challenges (ZGC) programme (2017-2019), for which IVCC supplied wide-ranging guidance and programme management support. The projects originally targeted Zika-transmitting Aedes mosquitoes, and demonstrated promise for re-purposing with Anopheles adults as the target. The chosen five projects will build on those initial studies. The two year projects have been agreed with research groups from Johns Hopkins University, Indiana University, and University of New South Wales.
