Target Product Profiles (TPPs) summarise the minimum and the optimum requirements for new vector control products and novel Active Ingredients (AIs). It is important to identify key criteria early on in order to address issues during the early pre-development stage and to prevent failures during development.
Although the key attributes will be frozen at an early stage, the final product can be adapted to meet the needs of the end user, for example: colour, size, shape. TPPs are developed in consideration of the long-term goal of malaria eradication, meaning industry partners can use them as a guide to ensure they are developing sustainable vector control tools with a realistic Integrated Vector Management (IVM) strategy.
